Kanye West Barred From Performing At 2022 Grammy Awards

The Grammy Recording Academy has decided to ax the performance of Chicago born rapper Kanye West that was set to take place Sunday April 3rd. The decision was made after West took to Instagram and went on a racial tirade insulting Grammy host, Trevor Noah. The Daily Show host and Kanye have been back and forth on social media regarding Kanye’s treatment towards ex-wife Kim Kardashian. On the March 15th episode of The Daily Show, Noah talked about how West’s recent public meltdowns should not be looked at as entertaining but as warning signs of an abusive relationship. The host then went on to say that he watched his own mother survive being shot in the head by an abusive stepfather and how those around her ignored her pleas for help. West was not happy after viewing the clip and took to Instagram to insult the host. Instagram suspended Kanye’s account for 24 hours following the tirade.

This isn’t the first time Kanye has taken to social media and hurled insults at someone. He has repeatedly expressed his grievances for the world to see on his stance over his four children he shares with Kim. Kanye has stated that he has no say so in the upbringing of his children and how they are being kept away from him. In addition he has repeatedly insulted Kardashian’s new boyfriend Pete Davidson. The SNL comedian has also been back and forth arguing with West amid social media.

Kanye is nominated for several Grammy awards. Donda is up for Album of the Year and for Best Rap Album. Other songs up from the album that have been nominated include Hurricane and Jail. We will see if Grammy officials allow him to win any awards or take away nominations all together.
